Athletics activate Santiago Casilla, call up Aaron Cunningham
The Oakland Athletics made a pair of roster moves Friday, activating reliever Santiago Casilla from the disabled list and recalling outfielder Aaron Cunningham from Triple-A Sacramento.
Casilla had a 1.59 ERA in nine appearances before spraining his right knee on April 28, while Cunningham has not played in the majors this season. He hit .250 in 22 games as a rookie last season.
To make room for the pair, the Athletics optioned relievers Jerry Blevins and Jeff Gray to Sacramento.
Blevins had a 12.46 ERA in five outings, while Gray retired the only batter he faced in a six-day major league stint.
