Red Sox drop struggling DH David Ortiz to No. 6 in batting order against Twins

David Ortiz has been dropped down three spots in the Red Sox' batting order as the slumping Boston designated hitter tries to get back on track.

Ortiz will bat No. 6 against the Minnesota Twins on Tuesday night, while right fielder J.D. Drew takes over Big Papi's usual No. 3 spot.

Ortiz is hitting .195 on the season with one homer and 18 RBIs. He was benched by Manager Terry Francona for a three-game series in Seattle last weekend and — after going 0 for 12 in a weekend series against the New York Mets — was given the day off Monday for the first game of the series with the Twins.
