Tigers outfielder Johnny Damon became the 92nd major league player to reach 2,500 career hits Tuesday with a single in the third inning of Detroit's 7-5 11-inning win over Baltimore.
Damon singled to center field off Orioles starter Jake Arrieta, drawing a lengthy standing ovation from the crowd of 22,532.
Damon is one of four active players with 2,500 hits, 1,500 runs and 1,000 RBIs, joining three former teammates: Manny Ramirez, Alex Rodriguez and Derek Jeter.
Damon followed up the milestone with a game-winning home run in the 11th inning.
Austin Jackson led off the 11th with a single off David Hernandez and Damon followed with a long homer to right field.
The Tigers trailed 4-1 going into the botto of the eighth but pulled back two runs before Baltimore stretched the lead to 5-3 in the top of the ninth.
Damon walked to lead off the ninth before Miguel Cabrera - who extended his hitting streak to 15 games - tied the game with a long home run.
