LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - David Ortiz continued his offensive resurgence for the Boston Red Sox by belting a pair of home runs in a 6-3 win over the Los Angeles Angels on Monday.

The Angels were dealt a double blow as they lost their new pitching hope Dan Haren after he was struck by a Kevin Youklis line drive in the fifth inning.

Haren, making his first start for the Angels after being traded on Sunday by the Arizona Diamondbacks, struck out eight in 4 2/3 innings.

He was treated for bruising on his right forearm and will be examined by the Angels' medical staff again on Tuesday.

Youklis went 3-5 in the game and was supported by third baseman Adrian Beltre's 2-3, while Ortiz scored three runs with his home runs in the third and eighth innings.

Both benches were warned by home plate umpire Wally Bell after Beltre was struck by a 97mph pitch from Fernando Rodney in the next at-bat after the second Ortiz homer.
