PHILADELPHIA (Reuters) - Colorado ace Ubaldo Jimenez struggled with his command and did not make it out of a wild third inning as the Philadelphia Phillies easily beat the Rockies 10-2 on Saturday.
Jimenez, vying for his 16th win, gave up four walks, a single and a bases loaded triple to Ryan Howard in the third inning before leaving with his team trailing 5-0 and with no outs.
He was charged for another run as the Phillies eventually sent 11 batters to the plate and scored seven runs in the inning. He finished with six runs on three hits and six walks while striking out two in two innings.
Jimenez had also narrowly escaped the second inning without allowing a run when he struck out Phillies pitcher Kyle Kendrick after giving up a single and loading the bases with back-to-back walks.
Philadelphia scored two more runs in the sixth inning on a two-run home run by Raul Ibanez, and one in the seventh as Jimmy Rollins' single drove in Ben Francisco who pinch hit for Kendrick. It was Rollins third RBI of the game.
Kendrick pitched seven complete innings allowing just one run on a solo home run by Ian Stewart in the fifth inning among six hits and one walk while striking out three.
