No relief: Phillies put right-hander Clay Condrey on disabled list again with strained side
The Phillies have placed reliever Clay Condrey on the disabled list, further depleting a bullpen racked by injuries.
Condrey is the third reliever to land on the DL this week, joining J.C. Romero (forearm) and Chad Durbin (back). Condrey has a strained muscle on his left side, the same injury that sidelined him for a month.
Condrey is 6-2 with a 3.62 ERA in 36 games this season.
Philadelphia also sent Andrew Carpenter back to Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Saturday and called up right-handers Kyle Kendrick and Steven Register.
