Red Sox are considering dropping slumping Big Papi in batting order
David Oritz might be dropped from third in Boston's batting order.
Red Sox hitting coach Dave Magadan said after a 12-5 win over the New York Mets on Sunday the team is probably going to talk about making the switch on the flight to Minnesota.
Boston plays the Twins Monday afternoon.
Ortiz went 0 for 5 and left eight runners on base Sunday against the Mets and was 0 for 12 over for the three-game series, dropping his average to .195.
Big Papi has been Boston's No. 3 hitter since flip-flopping with former teammate Manny Ramirez in 2003.
