Tiger Woods took a swing at Major League Baseball's New York Yankees and their pricey seats near the home plate in explaining why he has family-affordable ticket prices for his PGA tournament.
The world number one had tickets for just 25 dollars for the first two rounds of his six million-dollar event at Congressional Country Club with children able to get in for free.
Free tickets were also made available for military personnel.
It's a sharp contrast to the new Yankee Stadium, where top-priced seats were cut in half to 1,250 dollars.
"We don't want to have what happened at Yankee Stadium. Tickets are so overpriced you can't bring the family," Woods said after the second round.
"We want to have everyone come out and enjoy being in a family atmosphere, walk around, have a good time and not have it cost an arm and a leg."
Food prices were lower than at many major sports events as well, with such offerings as a peanut butter and jelly sandwich to try and make the day fun for children.
"We want to have kids come out here and enjoy golf," Woods said. "This is their introduction to the game and we want it to be memorable."
