The World Series champion St. Louis Cardinals have agreed to a two-year deal with slugger Carlos Beltran, according to the Major League Baseball club.
The team did not announce details of the deal but the St. Louis media reported it is worth $26 million dollars over the two years.
The contract is pending until Beltran passes a physical and the club said it would make a formal announcement after Christmas.
The 34-year-old Beltran hit .300 with 22 home runs, 84 RBIs with the New York Mets and San Francisco Giants last year.
